3Animation

Using Text Warp to create animation
Here's another simple animation technique using the new Text Warp tool. Set your type and duplicate the layer.

Create your effect in increments, each on a separate layer. Here, I used the Wave style on the Horizontal setting. I made one with a Bend of +12, the next at +27 and a third one (pictured here) at +58. Animate by turning on and off the layers. Click here to view the animation.

Add an Effects Tween
Just as you can do a position or opacity tween, you can also do an effects tween. If you have already created animation frames, you will need to delete them, as it is with Rollover states, ImageReady will remember everything just as it was when you created the frames. With the first frame, add a layer effect, such as Gradient Overlay I used here. Remember, in ImageReady, you set your layer effects in the Layer Options palette.

On the second frame, I copy the effects from the first layer to the second, turn on the second layer and turn off the first. In the Layer Options palette (which will be labelled Gradient Overlay here) change your settings. I simply clicked on the reverse setting. I alternated the gradient overlay settings across the other layers. Click here to view the animation.
