CLASSMATE'S LOGO SURF EXAMPLES

This is a web site for a car performance company. The Weapon-R logo looks very sharp, and it stands out from the black background color. When I look at the font I get the feeling that this logo expresses a high-tech feeling. Only red, white, and black are used in the logo; but, they give a strong, and eyecatching appearance.

I chose this logo, because its sinple, clean and easy to remember. The design concept is interesting and rounded, which gives a good sense of evolution.

I like the simplicity of this logo. The two letters: S and R are nicely merged, and the flash effects make it look attractive. Although it's simple, the silver color on the blue circle as background, and the 3d effect make it stand out and look professional and eye- catching.

I like the logo (adidas) because its very simple. Classic black background with white text. The three tilted white bars above adidas are very simple but give the logo some sophistication. The logo fits well whether its 50 pixels or 500 pixels.

Internet Cafe
The the print above the nose and over the oval gives
the logo an interesting shape. It fits well on the sites page(s). The size is perfect but would you expect less from Robin Williams (The Non-Designer's Web Book).

A & E has a totally different approach, I like this logo for the simple lines (letters) it tells you who they are quickly and efficiently.

I guess this is considered the page's logo...I hate it...First the white shadowing on the yellowish background (the letters GOS) is ugly and shows little knowledge of the web designer...I doubt they intentionally did this! They simply could have matted these letters on the same yellowish color background..Yuck! Next, the first letters of each word are different colors. The G and T are the same color but the S is a different color. Then the word "ministries" is placed right over the text...it would be better just below it I think. This whole think is awful I think!

This logo is a bad one. The font in a written type is too hard to read and has no contrast. Everything fades into the background. There are no contrasting colors to accent the company name. Using blue in the type and blue in the background does not work.

I just loved this logo. Their logo is also their title. It is simple, bright and colorful, and they incorprated images in both the logo and the url under it. Being that it is used for their title it is sized at 500 x 168 pixels. It is clean and crisp and sizes well at smaller dimensions.

From first glance, logo looks very scholastic, especially with a triangular shield in the front. The logo is not too small, not too large. The red shield is a bit bold for color, especially since the background is a pale green. The wheat wreath adds a tough of old-fashioned style school. The word Harvard could be bigger to emphasize the name. What I don't like about the logo is the letters on the shield. They look like books, clustering the the scholastic affect. The words are too small. From a distance, there is a face staring at you.

I have always liked this logo. I feel the meaning of the logo "energy conservation" comes across well. The hand and the light switch are clever and words or initials aren't needed. A picture is worth a thousand words as they say. The logo is 219x91 pixels and fits well on the site. The colors on the logo blend well with the other colors on the site and again, the intent of the message of the logo itself bodes well with the body text around it on the page. The logo could probably be sized down to 100 pixels and be okay but not any smaller due to the detail.

James O'Brien

http://www.altavista.com/

AltaVista's logo is simple and readable. I like the colors it uses. The mountain adds interest and makes the logo more memorable, but the small AltaVista logo does not include the mountain so it can be used at very small sizes. The logo fits nicely on the page and it is well matched with the rest of the site.

I like this logo, because it fit‚s a speedway and racing .It‚s simple, the red brings out type. The shape guides you into the page. The size of the Logo seems to be the right size for the page. Logo may be a little smaller.

I really like MSN's logo. It's simple white lettering and the transparencies in the layering of the butterfly wings make the logo attractive and easily recognizable. It also shows up well on different colored backgrounds and looks good resized larger and smaller. Currently they're advertising MSN 8 with the butterfly wings attached to silouette of someone dressed up like a butterfly (including antennae). Hopefully they won't be replacing the simpler logo.

Kent Ward

http://www.democrats.org

The Democratic National Committee has a nice logo on its website. The letters „D‰, „N‰, and „C‰ are treated with stars and stripes and a red, white and blue color scheme. The logo is part of the header for the page, and it works into the page layout very nicely. The logo is easy to read and conveys the desired patriotic feel to the web page. The design is fairly simple, but very effective.

This is very good, I believe. The balance of positive and negative forms in the "character" that's produced by combining the A and B, the grounding stability of the central shaft that the 'A' and 'B' share---combined with the movement of the swooshes, the fun tilting of the A and B yet at the same time the classicism of the adaption from the bolded serif type face: all these have been combined to make a very beautiful and memorable logo.

It 'says': GREAT artistry, classic, classy, unique, elegance, established, highly valued, and yet a touch of whimsy is hinted at. That ties to his signature creations of the precious-gem-and-gold classy baby-shoe jewelry pendants.

Also: there is the repetition of the pyramidal shape. The 'character' placed above the 2-word name makes one. And each A is one. I wonder who created this!
