This
is a web site that I visit often for automotive performance
parts. The racing collage in the middle of the screen catches
my eye whenever I see it. Its a picture of two cars drag
racing, so the action shot works very well. The graffiti
style font gives the page some attitude, so this collage
just bleeds import performance.

I
like this page because it uses two different collages: One
for the background, which is a green and white duotone of
women bodies at a low opacity. The other collage, which
is a set of pictures in a horizonlat bar contrasts nicely
with the background

I
really like the black, white, with red accents on the page.
The vertical strip of black and white simple headshots looks
great. I was surprised how small yet effective the pictures
are.

I've
always liked the Wells Fargo site's collages...the photos
are placed very close together with a small space in between
and then they combine this with text. The photos are always
changing but the look is the same...I think it's a nice
effect.

http://www.ferrari-carano.com/
I
chose this site because it is a fancy, local winery
in my neighborhood and it is using a garish collage
of photos. It is a bad example of too much going on;
the colors are too bold; there is not a good transition
from one picture to another. And their wine is terrible
too.

http://www.travelalaska.com/
This
is one of my favorate sites. I love the way they did the
whole collage here, centering it into the black, with a
burnt edge effect. With the image of Alaska centering the
collage, and the four pictures duotoned to match the "canvas",
makes for a beautiful effect.

Wow,
the home page looks pretty cool with the collage placed
in the center of the page. The images have a variety of
colors, so that adds interest to the site. The photo of
a dome in purple color really stands out. That was what
caught my attention in the first place. All the photos in
the main page use drop shadow and outer glow while other
photos throughout the site have no special effects. This
is good, because it's keeping the other pages clean.

http://www.cocacola.com/
This
is a really cool site! The photos and art are great and
the site is filled with a lot of motion and momentum. The
design is interesting and quite eye pleasing and exciting
to navigate. The photos are well placed and complement the
area in which they were placed. The animation also works
well. On the home page, I like it when the mouse goes over
the circles and they get bigger, which I believe symbolize
bubbles in the cola glass. Good stuff!!!

Invensys:
I liked the arrangement of the photos in the collage. The
bright colors in the orange and blue shape work nicely with
the bright colors in the collage.
Also of interest: http://www.yamaha.com/index_ns.htm
Yamaha.com uses photos representing product categories as
navigation the circular design is nice and some of the images
have been duotoned to match the color scheme.

Real
good job on pictures on this Web site. The pictures of the
animals all face into the web page.
Seven pictures on top in a row used as the navigation bar
with rounded corners. Some of the pictures are feathered.
Other pictures have rounded corner in different places of
the Web Site. Real good choice of pictures of the animals
in this Web site.

BAD SITE ON PICTURES
This web site has only one pictures and its a picture of
the track. This web site is about racing three different
type of CARS each week, plus a special gust Car. There should
be more pictures of the winners with their cars.

The
photos were beautiful and dynamic. I viewed the photos for
monday, it may be different by the time you get view them
, but mondays photo was of a chandelier and a red chinese
lantern. they then animated them to come up to the foregrounb
then fade again into the background. Text was also animated
in the image and though it was not completely readable it
added to the overall beauty and grace of the imagery. Well
Done. Smooth and Dynamic.

http://udate.com/
I
picked this site because I thought their webpage was effective.
I liked the way they set the photos (collage) inside the
heart (the heart is also a symbol in their logo). I also
like the way they're lined against a black background. The
images go well together colorwise, are simple, and effective.
They don't fight each other for attention. As a whole they
grab your attention. The "clients" look happy
and interesting. I'd be tempted to join. :) The cropping
was well done. Some of the photos have rounded corners and
some have straight corners, no pattern though. Compare these
photos to the simple collage at http://kiss.com/
. Their collage is very plain and not interesting at all.

The
site I chose for the Photo Surf Assignment is the site for
the Colorado Technical University. This site uses four photos
in a collage as the focal point for the home page. The four
photos are placed in a vertical row near the center of the
page. The colors in the photos work well with the other
colors on the page, and the overall effect is quite pleasing
to the eye of the visitor.

This
is "The Digital Photo Collage Page" of a person
who identifies himself only as 'tommy.' He has made wonderful
photo collages in a style I had not seen before. Though
static, they are like key parts to an animation: they almost
move!
(excerpt from the artists' statement...)
"---------Statement of Work----------
Visual perception and memory are not fluid.
Instead, our perceptions are of static moments linked closely
to create the illusion of smooth motion.
We normally observe in quick glances.
The eye moves jerkily. Sight is smoothed by the brain.
...
He also offers the images for anyone's free usage. Very
interesting---I say this is very good art.
