	Jim's Comments
I've tried to keep my 2 cents out of all the
hyperbole of the Old Times Game, but now that I've seen some pictures (OB's
and my own) and had a chance to reflect on The Beat (the young and the
restless) I'd just like to add a thought or two.

Never in a million years, when Kevin, OB and I were getting high at my
living room table that winter night in '87, did any of us imagine that not
only would the team live on for 18 years, but it would become the class of
the City. We just wanted to play ball!!! I guess what happened is we ended
up starting a family that's stronger (and just as dysfunctional) as any
	family I know.

The Old Timers Game was probably the most delicious day of Beat History. To
have the chance to play next to (and once again coach) Kevin, OB, Eric,
Peter, Mark, Frank, Todd and Kathy, Anna and Dennis, Dave Hamner, TC and
Marc is fantasy come true and I want to do it again with even more old
timers. The youngens must of thought we were crazy. And we even had them on
the ropes in the late innings.

I had gotten the opportunity to meet some of the newer players a few years
ago at a game at Jackson. Just to watch a game, shake some hands and coach
some first base. I was impressed with what I saw. I think I can speak for
the Old Timers and say it was a pleasure and an honor to play against the
	kids.

All us Old Timers know about the unbelievable achievements you guys have
accomplished in the past few seasons and we're all ready for you guys to
finally get that City Championship. You've got fans all over the country
rooting for. You've done us proud. So keep it up or we'll come back and kick
your ass for real. We were taking it easy on you on Saturday.

Thanks to all involved. I loved it (especially all the Brass Beat Winners -
	that was cool).
