The data is in! States with "right to carry" laws see a reduction in violent crimes, particularly against women.

University of Chicago law faculty studied the effects of "right to carry" laws. They compare the 31 "right to carry" states with states like California where the right to carry a concealed weapon is generally prohibited by local authorities. The study showed that the "right to carry" laws were associated with a 5-13% decrease in murder, rape and violent crime. The benefit was most pronounced for women and particularly for women in areas with a population over 100,000.

I propose that California adopt "right to carry" laws. California women deserve this protection!
