CC Maverick (Maverick) is a 2001 gelding by our QH stud Masada EH out of the Arab mare, Miah. He favors his sire in many ways – he is 16 hh, similarly gaited, very sure footed, has a low pulse and a kind disposition. His dam is the only Arab mare ever bred to Masada. Maverick is the type of horse that would like to go fast, but I am hoping for a long career with him, so keep him in check. He has great bone, strong feet and easily pulses down. He eats and drinks well wherever he is. I feel he really likes to have fun. See Who's Maverick Capable of any kind of ride, Maverick can effortlessly negotiate the most difficult and technical terrain, and loves hills. Maverick seems suited for distance rides. Primarily he competes in 50's, but so far has accomplished any distance asked of him. He competed in three American River, 75 mile, Pioneer Division (no crew support) rides - 2009, 2010 and 2011. In 2008, he competed in the Oregon 100 (photo on right), in 2009, the 2009 National Championship 100 mile ride, and in 2010, the Twenty Mule Team 100. He has also participated in a good number of multi-day rides. |
