Seals and Salmon
More than 3000 formal comments were made on the United States government's draft proposal
to kill harbor seals
and California sea lions on the west coast of North America. The government has yet to respond to the
comments. Two of

Seals and Cod
On the east coast of North America harp and hooded seals have been blamed by politicians for
the decline of the cod. Overfishing is the real reason.Cod form a minor part of the seals' diet,
and seals eat the predators
of cod, and may well aid in cod recovery. For more information the

Seal Conservation Society
Based in Scotland, the
Seal Conservation Society provides information about world pinniped preservation efforts
and problems, and maintains a database for reports and other publications.
