Here's a small sampling of our computer illustration work for this title published by the Integrated Media Group, an imprint of
Wadsworth Publishing. The author, Jim Shuman, is an old friend. We've been producing his books since 1989, first for Mitchell McGraw-Hill, then Wadsworth, then Boyd & Fraser, and now Wadsworth again. He was kind enough to mention us in the preface to this book as "longtime collaborators," rather than just a production service.
The style of these drawings is something of a departure for us. Usually, we create EPS illustrations, which tend to have a hard-edged look; but since this was to be a splashy, colorful book on multimedia, we decided to take our vector-based FreeHand illustrations into Photoshop, where we could add soft shadows, glowing highlights, and transparent color.
