Diversions - Fractals
A Math Lover's Art Gallery

I recently read the book Chaos, Making a New Science by James Gleick and have learned about the generation of fractal images using recursive equations. Although I am not usually attracted to abstract art, I am very fond of the fractals. So here are some pictures.

Diversions - Saturn

This is an image of the planet Saturn with its rings. Although I have seen many pictures of Saturn, I was really amazed and excited when I finally saw it through a telescope. And I wondered how Galileo felt when he saw Saturn. He was the first human being known to have used a telescope to view the planets and stars. And there was nobody to tell him about the ringed planet.
