| The main character. Frequently required to risk his own life for the sake of others, he is possessed of extraordinary bravery in the face of danger, as well as considerable luck. That said, as a minor it is perhaps unusual that he has been involved in quite so many world-shaking situations. Despite his carefree smile in this picture, his demeanor becomes serious when the fate of the planet Venus is on the line. He is pictured with his pet, Boochy, who does not play a major role in the story. His hobbies include rafting, studying plants and the theory of travelling to other dimensions. | |||

| Surely Tougho's name is meant as an in-joke ("Sluggo"?) or sarcasm, since he is in fact a mild-mannered would-be reporter frequently spotted typing or writing on a notepad. He is distinguished from the other Venusians by his stovepipe hat, which he wears continually. One of Freddy's best friends. His hobbies include writing and tinkering with radio and communications equipment. | |||

| Race: Venusian | Age: Approx. 12 | ||
| Sally is just slightly older than Freddy, although the difference may appear greater than it is because Venusians, like humans, mature faster as girls than as boys. Her background is mysterious, but she is an excellent spaceship pilot and generally all-round competent at exactly the right level between "strong female character" and "fawning men's action figure." (Note that although the female characters on this page are portrayed in clothes, in reality on 2086 Venus both male and female Venusians usually go nude except when on Earth or in inclement weather.) | |||

| Despite a resemblance to "Violet" from Charles Schulz's "Peanuts", Mary is much more easy-going and humane than her spiritual stepsister. Generally not involved in the carnage and near-disaster which goes on around her, when she is forced to act she usually does all right. Her hobbies include studying alien languages. | |||

| A man of action, Brian has been known to pilot spaceships, wield assorted weapons and engage in fisticuffs. In addition, although there has never been a link established between the two facts, he and his entire family are vegetarians. He is a little older than Freddy, although they are in the same grade. | |||

| Freddy's younger brother, Tom. He is interested in wrestling, jiu-jitsu, guns, knives and other violent activities. The question also remains -- will he grow up to be taller than Freddy? | |||

| Freddy and Tom's mother, she shows up in some of the later episodes, usually cooking scrambled fish eggs, or "cheese-meat" pies, or other hearty, sustaining food. She is apparently the sole parental figure in the house. Her brother, Freddy's Uncle Geo, is extremely rich and lives in Venopolis, one day's travel away. | |||

| Race: Garglot | Age: Approx. 13 | ||
| Garglots (who are related to gargoyles) dwell in asteroid belts, in Roald's case around the large, vaguely peanut-shaped asteroid Hector. Roald's family either has a second home on Venus or he just hangs out there frequently. Either due to poor social skills or cultural differences he often comes off as sort of a jerk. He spends a lot of time with his girlfriend. | |||

| Ronald's family, who are fairly well-off, recently moved from Venus to Earth. The extreme heat of the Venusian day makes it unpleasant for humans to spend much time outside and so he does not usually join the others on their adventures. Having only moved recently, he also has many friends at home who he compulsively e-mails. His hobbies include sports and astronomy. | |||

| Richard is the most marginal member of the group. He is usually seen with Mary, whom he lives close to, or hanging out in the "clubhouse" which he renovated. His main hobby is science. | |||

| Mike, Susan and Will are three little kids who are good friends. Predictably but unfortunately, the older kids generally view them as nuisances. They often get lost for hours on end, or run away to play with Lazar and Moro, the kids who live on the other side of the block and go to a different school. | |||
