Shipboard Dining China
We offer a collection of nautical dining china, and silverware that has been carefully selected for authenticity. Our interest is maritime shipping company relics – unless the items actually came from a ship company, we don't stock them.
All items are shipping company or Navy marked (top, bottom or both), unless clearly stated. Marked items are the best values in the long run. We do, however, consider patterns such as "Blue Fouled Anchor", ship line flag, pennant, or those pieces marked with a a recognizable logo, to be top marked.

R.M.S. Niagara dinner Aug 18, 1914 "music programme" on back
(The R.M.S. Niagara was built for the Union Shipping Line in 1912 and sailed from Sydney, via Aukland,
Fiji & Honolulu to Vancouver, B.C. under the Canadian-Australian Line banner. In it's time, it set the
standard for luxurious travel to the South Pacific. The Niagara came to grief and fame when it hit a
German mine in 1940, and sank with 8 tons of gold bars (and fortunately no loss of life). At 400 feet
down, salvaging the gold set a deep sea recovery record.)

SSC-3474 large water pitcher 3 1/2 quart 8 3/4" T X 10 1/2" W (Reed & Barton) $180.00
(this huge silver-plated pitcher was reportedly salvaged from the sailing ship "The Western World"
which sank off Spring Lake, N.J. in 1853. Its condition is very good considering the circumstances,
but the hollow handle is entirely crushed inwards, presumably due to water pressure, and the seam
is split. Whether The Western World ran aground due to a gail or thick fog seems to be a matter of
debate, but as all 300 hands made it safely ashore, fog seems the more likely. This is a handsome
piece of authentic Jersey shore shipwreck salvage - a scarcely seen item these days.)

Our Customer Comments
Visa and M/C, as well as checks and money orders, accepted.
Packing – We pack for success, not excuses. We love old railroad china and relics as much as you do, so we would rather spend a bit more on packing materials (actually, we prefer to use clean recycled packing materials) than see a piece broken in transit. Our success is collectors getting pieces they want, and only that. Therefore, all sales are allowed a three day inspection period, within which time, unsatisfactory items may be returned for refund.
Trade / Sell – Perhaps you would like to suggest a trade ? Unlike an Old World vegetable grocer, we do not care to haggle over the price of each piece, but if you think that you could suggest a trade, or other "deal," that would be mutually beneficial, we will be happy to hear you out. Maybe you have a piece that doesn't exactly fit with your collection, and we have a piece that does – maybe a deal could be found. Please recall though, that this is a commercial enterprise, so we would find no advantage in a trade for pieces of like value. Of course, we are always buying (at wholesale prices) – from whole collections to single pieces.
Appraisals – We get many requests for appraisals, and are happy to honor those request for $6.00 per item. Our appraisal is what we think that a particular item ought sell for at "full retail" (although that depends on how you might market the item) – please feel free to write for further details. For free, we will tell you what we would pay for an item, but please, only inquire if you might actually want to sell your item to us. Our "free appraisal" is always the same - "an item is worth what you can get someone to pay you for it."
Sales Tax / Ca. only – Orders shipped to California addresses must pay applicable sales tax.
Gift Wrap – For an extra $7.00 per gift, we will gift wrap any item(s) and mail it directly to the recipient. Nothing too fancy, but we will box the item(s) and tailor the wrap to the occasion (birthday, Christmas or other), with a "from / to" tag filled out as you specify.
Wants lists – We have steamship china - you want steamship china, but unfortunately, these are not always the same items. If you would care to send us your "want list", we will store it and notify you (e-mail or phone, your choice) if we get that item in stock. There is no obligation on your part - this is only a notification service and interest survey. Send to: Wants lists
All items first come, first served – if you like it, you can own it. No false-hope teaser prices, no bidding stress, no sniping – everything is "Buy It Now" priced. Prices subject to change without notice.
Questions and comments welcomed.
