The Montana Central ran some 250 miles from from Butte, Mt. to Great Falls, Mt, plus had another line running southeast from Great Falls. The line was owned in part by James Hill, before the latter got started building the Great Northern, and was eventually absorbed into the Great Northern, from the late 1890's, finalising in 1907. Whether Montana Cental silverware was used in railroad "eating stations" or in a dining car on the Montana Express, is not known.
Incidently, for those that might be wondering - "M.C. RR" would be for the Michigan Central, "M.C. Ry" would denote the Montana Central, and the Maine Central would use "MEC".
