SON DIED CIVIL WAR: Doris says one son was a prisoner in the South in Andersonville Prison during the Civil War. He died there. I looked up Andersonville on the internet and could not find him. There were Dalrymples - an Evelyn P. of New York, an Isaac of Illinois, and a Jerry E. of Pennsylvania. (www.corinthian.net/mccc/plookup.htm). However, at www.ancestry.com I did find a William H. Dalrymple from Lyons, Ionia, Michigan who died in Danville Prison in Danville, Virginia.

Mariah or Mary Stevenson

NAME: Family Bible shows Mary Stevenson born 1809.

NAME: IGI shows Marion Stevenson. The only reference I have seen to Marion Stevenson is the death cert for Aaron Dalrymple. (Marion and Mariah look similar.) The marriage record has Mary Stevensen.

DEATH: Photo of tombstone in North Plains Cemetery shows Mariah, wife of Eli Dalrymple, died June 22, 1846 in the 36 year of her age. Also an infant.

BURIAL: The North Plains Cemetery in Ionia Co., Michigan shows a burial record for a Mariah Dalrymple, wife of Eli, in cemetery lot 126-1.

FATHER: Look into the possibility of a Nicholas Stevenson in Lebanon Twp, Hunterdon County, New Jersey. There is also a William Stevenson and a Sarah Stevenson family. There are 3 Stevenson families in Lebanon Twp, Hunterdon County, New Jersey in 1830 plus Ely Dalrymple married to Mary Stevenson.

2. Ellen Dalrymple

BIRTH: I do not know the date of birth. The family usually lists Ellen as the second child. According to the census, I believe she would have been the first child. Therefore I'm giving her an approximate birth date of 1829/1830.

DEATH: I would like to get family feedback on how old Ellen was when she died.

BURIAL: Doesn't give birth date. North Plains Cemetery records show an Emma Dalrymple, daughter of Eli, buried in cemetery lot 126-6. Since the family says there is a daughter Ellen, I'm presuming the cemetery record erroneously thought the name Ellen was Emma. There is no tombstone standing in this plot with the name Ellen or Emma. Maybe the record is from entries recorded by the church. If so, in writing, Ellen and Emma look alike.

5. Peter W. Dalrymple

PICTURE: Tintype of him in Family Bible according to Calvin

BURIAL: In the North Plains Cemetery records, a burial is shown for a Peter Dalrymple in cemetery lot 126-5. Beside it is the note he was the son of Eli.

1850 CENSUS: The 1850 Ionia Co., Michigan Census shows a Peter Delrimple, age 16, living in North Plains Twp with a Jerry Barber family. There is also a Sylvester Dalrymple, age 12, and a Catharine Dalrymple, age 10, living with different families in North Plains Twp.

The internet uses a different numbering and gives page 159B in North Plains Township.
