Newspaper article says parents were Mr. and Mrs. Wm Dalrymple, 1802 Weldon Ave. Father was a flag man on the Grand Trunk railroad tracks. Died on a Friday and buried on a Tuesday.

"Father Works to Recover Body, Not Knowing Victim Was His Daughter"
"Viola Dalrymple, 15-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Dalrymple, 1802 Weldon ave., was drowned Friday afternoon at 4:08 in the Grand river when she fell from the Logan street bridge. It is believed Miss Dalrymple was crossing the bride (spelling) when a sudden gust of wind lifted her hat from her head, carrying it over the side of the structure. It is thought she reached suddenly for the hat and in doing so, lost her balance and toppled into the river.
"Her father, William Dalrymple, is employed as a flagman on the Grand Trunk railroad tracks at Logan st. and heard the splash as his daughter's body struck the water. He hurried to the bridge where he was informed that a man had fallen into the river. Dalrymple immediately rushed to his shanty in quest of a rope to aid in rescuing the victim. Upon his return, Dalrymple worked industriously with the police officers and when the body was found a few minutes later, his surprise and grief were unbounded when he identified the girl as his daughter.
"Funeral services for the girl will be held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at Joy's undertaking chapel. Interment will be held at Mt. Hope cemetery. Miss Dalrymple is survived by her father and mother and three sisters, Mabel, Myrtle, and Flossie."

CHILDREN: Problem with who the children are. 1910 Census says 3 children, 3 living. They were listed as Ell. L., Carl, and Howard. From the Ingham County birth records I found a Martin and a Howard. This gives me four names which isn't right. CHECK AGAINST 1920 CENSUS.
