According to the Census John died between 1900 and 1910. This date is consisten 2 CONC t with that. Also the birth date is consistent with an age of 64 yr, 5 mo, 15 days at death 2 CONC . It is the only possible entry for the death of John Peterman listed in the index. There wa 2 CONC s one other John PeterSON, but it showed born in Sweden. In fact this cert shows died in Germ 2 CONC any and Peterson is not a German name. I believe the recorder may have made a mistake in reco 2 CONC rding the name of the decedent. I also see a burial for a John PeterMAN in Seville Twp, Grati 2 CONC ot County, Michigan, lot D 031, with a death date of July 31, 1907. This confirms the above d 2 CONC eath record is really for this John Peterman. 2 CONT 2 CONT Although the above death date is consistent with the census information, it does not agree wi 2 CONC th the family story. Doris says he died long before Nellie was md. They said the father lef 2 CONC t a young family where the teenage William had to help raise the younger sisters and brother 2 CONC . This does not add up. 2 CONT 2 CONT PARENTS: Whether or not the listed parents for John Peterman are correct depends on whethe 2 CONC r the above is a valid death cert for John Peterman. Doris thought John's wife's maiden nam 2 CONC e was Stout. That is not the case, but it is a possibility it could be the maiden name of Joh 2 CONC n's mother. 2 CONT 2 CONT FAMILY: Doris said John was the youngest of 6 or 7 boys. This is not right; he had a younge 2 CONC r brother Charles living with him in 1880. Doris said they left Prussia and went to Canad 2 CONC a - the other boys stayed in Canada. They left Germany because the father didn't want his son 2 CONC s to be "gun fodder." 2 CONT 2 CONT JOHN PETERSON: There is a John Peterson, b.
