November 6 is Munch-a-long time starting at Ken’s.  Hopefully La Nina will 
sprinkle us with golden sunshine this year instead of rain.  Also on the 
calendar are the Day- After-Thanksgiving Party on November 26 at Anne & 
Pat’s,  Skyline Christmas party at Ginger’s on December 4 and the Y2K Party 
at Anne & Pat’s on December 31.

This is a series  of leisurely rides aimed at the novice rider with an 
emphasis on skills and techniques.  A slightly harder/longer loop will be 
available for the more advanced rider or as a goal to shoot for the beginning 
rider.  Meet near the 24 Hour Nautilus in the Quito Village Shopping Center 
on Cox between Saratoga Avenue and Quito Road.  Stay for snacks, questions, 
answers (maybe) and general social amenities after the ride.  Bring money for 
snacks.  Route sheets provided for all rides.  HELMETS REQUIRED, RAIN OR WET 
ROADS CANCELS THE RIDE.

Market in downtown SC to eat at Natural Bridges Beach, followed by ice 
cream/coffee stop in Capitola. Meet at Cabrillo College: From Hiway 1 South 
exit at Porter Street, turn left under the freeway, then right on Soquel 
Drive. Turn right on Cabrillo College Drive (opposite the college) and left 
into the parking lot. Park at the far end of the lot (especially if it's a 
flea market day).  This is an ACTC/WW so call Naomi for details.

Meet in San Francisco at the Bufano statue at Lake Merced just off 
Brotherhood Way.  Cross the Golden Gate Bridge, ride the bike paths of Marin 
then over to Paradise Cove Drive and into Tiburon for lunch and whatever 
wanderings desired.  Return via Belvedere and Sausalito.  Bring a lock, $$ 
for lunch and maybe a snack in case lunch is late.  Optional alternate 
starting point near the Bridge possible.  Call Roy for details and to confirm 
or he may go sailing instead.

Mt. Hamilton---Up and Over (Maybe)

Take a last ride up Mt. Hamilton before the snow falls...or at least before 
it gets too cold.  Meet at Togo's at Morrill and Landess in San Jose. We'll 
ride up to the top of Mt. Hamilton.  Depending on weather and the general 
consensus of riders, there may be a group that continues down the backside of 
Mt. Hamilton. There will definitely be one ride leader that turns around at 
the top and comes back.  Call Connie & Eric if you are coming so they will be 
sure to be at the start to greet you.

Join the Skyliners for this all time favorite pot luck ride/pig out.  The 
ride has easy and hard options with three very important stops.  The first is 
for hors d'oeuvres and drinks, the second for the salad course and the final 
stop for the main course.  RSVP to Ken by Wednesday Nov 3 with your pot luck 
contribution and your entree choice (Skyline provided)  of chicken (white or 
dark), salmon or steak.   It just isn’t going to rain this day  but on that 
rare possibility call Ken for alternate plans (hike/movie/gab session, 
whatever).

Travel to Chile

It’s travel film time to Chile to view the spectacular fjords, mountains, 
deserts and national parks.  Meet  at the Mountain View Center for the 
Performing Arts' box office at 6:15 to purchase tickets ($8.00) then head out 
for  dinner on Castro Street.  If you can't make dinner but still want to 
travel with us buy a balcony seat ticket and meet us up there at 7:45.
