Yet another crap performance. The Bosnians took it to the Germans, who have to be happy not to have covered themselves in shame. From the start, the hosts pressed hard, creating several chances against a disorganized defense and a disastrous midfield. German legionaire Salihadmidzic was especially troubling, and he set up the first score for Balic. The germans dilly-dallied, using fouls and other stalling tactics in the rough game. They almost evened things out as Jancker took a dive, but Frings blasted the penalty into the surrounding mountains.

Things got better in the 2nd half. Voeller made wholesale changes, taking out several worthless players for at least useful ones. But the best move was an indirect change. Christian Woerns, who had had a miserable 1st half, redeemed himself by getting in a fight with Salihamidzic, the Bosnian's best player. Both were red carded, which of course was a huge advantage to Germany. And a few minutes later, lumbering Jancker whacked in Kehl's cross and the score was tied. The Germans slowly began to assert control over the match, and created a few chances that might have led to the winner. Overall, the draw accurately reflects play, but it's yet another black eye for Deutschland.
