The Danes were a bit peeved, as they expected a full strength German squad. And apparently the DFB was a bit perplexed as well, as they offered partial rebates to fans that had purchased tickets...
However, that said, it was a young German squad, not a terrible one. Löw did experiment: he gave debuts to Enke, Hilbert, Rolfes, Castro, Kiessling and Helmes. Madlung got his 2nd cap, Trochowski and Schlaudraff their 3rd. In general, the Danes were the better team, but a good performance by Enke held them off, and when they finally did take the lead, they were forced to defend furiously the last 10 minutes to keep the victory. All in all, a rather worthless training match...
