Herradura

Herradura makes some of the best tequila available, combining the best of traditional methods with superb quality control. All tequilas are made from 100% blue agave, from Herradura's own plants. Detailed computer databases are kept on every one of the some 4 million plants on 4,000 hectares of plantation land. Only the ripest plants are used, and Herradura ages it's premium brands well beyond the minimum to qualify for it's classification. No additives whatsoever are used. Coloring comes from aging in oak barrels.

Brands Herradura Silver
Powerful flavor. Basically OK for making margaritas.

Herradura Reposado
This is probably the best buy of all tequila. A bit more pricy than the usual suspects, such as Hornitos, but well worth it. The quality is often better than most other brands añejo classes. Herradura ages the tequila for a minimum of 3 months, to a maximum of 11 months. This gives it an unusually smooth taste for a Reposado.

Herradura Añejo
Herradura's premium brand. This añejo is usually aged around 2 years.

El Jimador
Another reposado from Herradura, but this one is aged only 2-3 months in order to bring it to market quicker. A fairly decent, drinkable tequila at a reasonable price. I rate it better than Sauza's Hornitos.
