Distillery: Sauza (Tequila)

If Cuervo is the Anheuser Busch of tequila, then Sauza is the Miller. Again, mass produced stuff, overly marketed and shoved down the throats of consumers. Nevertheless, there are some decent buys.

The brands:

Sauza Silver
Powerful flavor. Hot, peppery finish. Can you spell "hangover?"

Hornitos
This 100% agave reposado is actually quite decent, and is usually available wherever you can find Cuervo. Given it's low price, it is quite a good buy. Somewhat sweet, but with a slight bitter finish.

Tres Generaciones
A reposado, but mixed. Apparently an early attempt by Sauza to market a premium, but they neglected to note that the trend was to use 100% Blue Agave. They subsequently corrected that problem, but you can never tell unless you actually see the bottle whether or not you're getting the best stuff.

Tres Generaciones 100% Agave
An average reposado at best, and hardly a bargain price wise. If you want a premium, there are much better brands, and if you want a good buy, then Sauza's own Hornitos is better.
