Given the rather weak recent performances by WSV, this has to be considered a good result. Saarbrücken has it's problems, like "When am I getting my paycheck?", but they are one of the more talented teams in the 3rd division. Most likely, if they were completely focused, they would be a clear title contender.
The technicians from the Saar looked like the winners at the Wupper until 4 minutes from the end. The game itself was quite exciting, and full of changes in action. But then a header by the hard-working Hartwig, off a cross from Simmes, gave WSV the tie.

The guests changed pace better, aggressively disrupted the WSV build-ups , and in attack had the outstanding Adriano da Silva. The Brazilian forward practically won every one-on-one against his opponent Becker. After a quarter of an hour, he was foiled by goalkeeper Heinen, but he reacted quicker after a dangerous corner, and pushed the ball into the net from a short distance (27.)

WSv overall made a better impression over recent efforts, and after a few lineup changes, after about a hour came into some good chances through Goulet. And the final logical result was the the score that led to a deserved point.
