Résumé Kim Scott
Design Online: Community Webpages
In the beginning... it was a surprise project for an exceptional person... My friend, Michael Grice, runs the Spreckels Performing Arts Center... he has done an admirable job opening a state-of-the-art facility with a dedicated shoestring staff... my class assignment was to produce a webpage... I took it a step further and designed a web site encompassing a series of pages to help Michael promote the Center. I'm still working on winning Lotto... but, in the meantime, this is a great way to spend my time!

Lifelong Student: Design
Combine an eager mind and a world class instructor by the name of Robin Williams and learning is pure pleasure... I learned many wonderful technical design skills in time for them to become obsolete with the introduction of the Macintosh... so I went on to learn computer design skills!... City Hall was the beneficiary of three and a half years of voluntary desktop publishing projects... then onto new technology... I introduced the City's Performing Arts Center to the Internet!

Who in their right mind wouldn't want to live in a beautiful resort area?! It made for a memorable vacation, and soon after lead to year round residency. I lived on one of the most beautiful roads in Sonoma County, Martinelli Road winds its way through apple orchards, grape vineyards and towering redwoods. I worked by day, swam non-stop laps at lunch, went to school at night and enjoyed the sights and sounds of my surroundings, which was only slightly interrupted by the floods. Packing up and moving to nearby Sebastopol made alot of sense! Of course, I would have to characterize Rohnert Park City Hall as "Less like work.... and more like a soap opera...or maybe even a mystery" ( It's a book in the makings! )

There is nothing better than enjoying the atmosphere of a small town... being able to walk to work in 15 minutes ( the last part across a swinging suspension bridge! )... and working with friendly people... moving back to the central coast of California was a pleasurable endeavor... I bought my first house and settled in for a few years.

Planning / Landscape Architecture
Tales of my first job.... a southern California adventure! I'm not sure if it could be categorized as work experience or life experience.... I prefer to remember it as "bumper to bummer"... Three traffic jams for breakfast... and another two before dinner was standard fare... It amazed me that people actually did this on a voluntary basis... I told myself that I would do it for one year... and I am proud to say that I almost made it!

More Landscape Architecture
Chronilogically speaking... most people begin by detailing their educational accomplishments... My goal in life is to win Lotto.... my next priority is to continue being a professional student... I love school and I love learning... while I was attending school I also loved pulling all-nighters finishing design projects.... tubing up the Atascadero River.... and shooting pool with friends... ( that's what you're supposed to do in college, right?! )
Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture
