#264 Double Springs
Founded February 18, 1850. Became county seat of Calaveras
County. Old court house, said to be constructed of lumber brought from China,
is still standing, but not on the original site.
Nothing remains of this site.
State plaque: Hwy 12 (PM 15.5); Private plaque on Double Springs Rd, 3.6 mi E of Valley Springs.
