Traditional ways are still a part of everyday life in Burma (Myanmar). For centuries ox-carts with wooden wheels hive ridden the dusty trailscreated by their ancestors. The design and dimensions of this transport have been handed down from generation to generation. Repairing these wheels is also an age old custom. Replacing the metal covering requires horse dung to be rubbed on the wheel. A new metal casing is pryed over the wheel and a fire is set. The heat is fueled by the dung and the metal expands to fit the wheel. They pound it to fit just right. As soon as this is done it is doused with water to shrink the metal and put out the fire. That is the steam you see here.
