A penguin in an all-white tuxedo? This five-month-old emperor penguin is the first one ever documented. Gerald Kooyman, a University of California, San Diego, scientist, spotted the rare bird while conducting a penguin census in December. The bird is not an albino, which lacks pigment, he says; rather, its coloration is probably the result of recessive genes for white plumage.
