june 17, 08 the new mix is up! you can now download it all in one go as a huge .zip file, courtesy of archive.org november 22, 07 tuesday november 27 the watery graves (marriage records, portland) at the blue barnacle, 737 slater, santa rosa (map) hear mp3s: please bring a donation for the touring bands ($3-5 suggested). punctuality is heavily encouraged. september 24, 2007 uploaded some older releases, check the bottom of this page august 22, 2007 whether you were awaiting the return of quetzalqoatl or staring blankly into your swimming hole before algae takes over, the summer dregs have arrived and made themselves at home. be not afraid - astronomy club ghost has six (yes!) releases of californian fear and human loathing available to all who want them. also, we hope to have a sonoma county events calendar on-line soon. anyone who wants will be able to post an event or bulletin. in the meantime, acgs is currently seeking help for a few projects. please contact us if you are interested in helping out with the following: - we need a place to have loud shows! even if you're interested but don't know what you would do to help, drop us a line anyway! astronomyclubghoststory@gmail.com in the past year we've witnessed the birth and death of epiphany music & boys club (not to mention some outrages far, far worse). the phoenix is now charging a minimum of eight dollars for every show, including shows made up of local bands. obviously this completely sucks. already there have been some amazing responses to the lack of youth-friendly venues - the wingstock festival, hosted on a petaluma farm, as well as outdoor shows in guerneville and a guerilla show in a santa rosa overpass have stood as wonderful examples. hopefully we can find something with a roof and walls before it starts raining again. the stunning natural beauty of sonoma county is often overshadowed by the ever-present lack of "things to do". local business interests cater more to wine & tourism more than they do to the people who actually live here. and at the bottom of the barrel, of course, are young people. (how many years has sebastopol been pushing for a skate park?) if you don't want to live in a boring place, i suggest taking matters into your own hands. everyone knows the difference between a doer and a complainer. so if you want to see something happen, make something happen - fuck waiting around for someone else to do it!!- mh note: our older releases will be back online really soon, i promise! |
