The purpose of the Visioning Conference is to develop an understanding of the organization's history, the current situation, and the kind of organization that's desirable to create in the future.

Customer/Supplier Conference

The purpose of the Customer/Supplier Conference is to develop an understanding of external and internal customer/supplier relationships, how they work, and what's required and desired for the future.

Technical Conference

The purpose of the Technical Conference is to develop an understanding of the flow or process of doing business, and to determine major problemsand variances that occur and how they are currently controlled by the organization.

Social Conference

The purpose of the Social Conference is to develop an understanding of the issues affecting quality of work life and the ability of the organization to be adaptive, flexible, and achieve its goals.

Preliminary Design Conference

The purpose of the Preliminary Design Conference is to design an organization that meets the vision for the future, serves the most important external and internal customer/supplier needs, and minimizes the major problems or variances that occur. The information that was generated from the previous three conferences are the criteria for success in creating the new design.

Implementation Conferences

Once the preliminary design is accepted, the organization may opt to continue with the conference process for implementation. The purpose of the Implementation Conference(s) is to add detail to the specific area(s) of the organization undergoing revision. Participants and invitees work together meeting the criteria for success, determining the structure and teams, and creating action plans for carrying out implementation.
