The poor blown apart wiring harness trying to find its way around the base of the air cleaner.  It does tie the air cleaner to the wiring harness but it is the closest route from the sensors and injectors to someplace were they could be hidden.
You can see were the coil and ignition amplifier were mounted in the air cleaner.  Many connections are made inside of the large harness as it makes its way down the back side of the motor.

The ECU is mounted in the electronics bay located behind the seats.  The CD changer, amplifiers, and assorted control modules are mounted in this space.  The main wiring harness is located inside the frame rail finding its way up and into the backside of this bay.
The ECU is mounted to a plate that is in turn mounted under the main shelve.  Care was taken to assure good one point ground connections and that the sensor grounds made their way back to a one pint ground.  Ground loops could play havoc with your system if care is not taken when extending the wiring harness.
Finally the main harness connection is made to the ECU.
