Douglas fir, Yosemite, winter
|
|
2002 20 x 25" The road to Glacier Point is lined in some sections with enormous Douglas fir trees that are festooned with substantial colonies of fluorescent yellow lichen. In the winter, the road is open only to cross country skiers and snow campers. One can ski up to the trees at leisure, and see not only the lichen, but also how the snow has been packed into the cracks and crannies in the bark by the blizzards. Original available |
