This beautiful lake is in the Palisades region of the Sierra Nevada, at least two days of arduous hiking from the nearest trailhead. Whenever I camp at it, I make a point of getting up before sunrise and walking around the lake, so as to be able to see the lake before the morning breezes pick up and ripple the mirror-like surface.

This painting is on 1/2" marine plywood.
