From a formal garden pond in Ireland.

This lovely flower was floating in remote splendor, amidst a stately retinue of pads.

The weather was mist, dense and determined enough to stick, but gentle enough to not disturb any of the hundreds of droplets on the petals and pads.

The flower turned out to be just close enough to shore that I was able to photograph it by balancing like a stork on a solid rock on the shoreline, extending my free leg as far back as possible, so as to allow maximum extension of my camera hand. Luckily, the camera I had that day was light, and I avoided falling into the pond and causing an international incident.
