I
was born 1951 April 16 in Oakland, CA, on the Terran home world, Sol Three
(aka, Earth). That makes me an Aries and I seem to fit the astrological
stereotype fairly well: goal-oriented, impatient, unflappable, and a risk-taker.
Along with 6% of the total population, my Jung/Meyers-Briggs/Keirsey type
indicator is ISTJ (Inspector):
decisive in practical affairs, guardian of time-honored institutions, and
dependable. In the Enneagram
system, I'm best described as The Standard-Bearer (Type 1): principled,
strong sense of responsibility, high standards, and a tendency toward perfectionism.
My InQ thinking style is "analytical idealist".
Physically,
I am 195 cm. (about 6' 4") tall, weigh about 115 kg. (250 lbs.), and have
green eyes, brown hair, and a salt-and-pepper beard. My ethic heritage
is northern European (Denmark, Sweden, Germany, and England), altho I have
a small amount of Native American blood as well. I consider myself Danish-American.
Nonetheless, a really relate more as a California-American than anything
else.

In
early 1970, while a freshman in college, I "came out" as a gay man. I identify
with the bear
(
542KB
WAV) subculture within the gay male experience. As early as 1972
I had bear-oriented pet names, I own an extensive collection of teddy bears,
and I collect postage stamps containing bear images. I'm a member of the
Bears
of San Francisco. My bear
code is B5 f+ t++ w+ d+ g++ s++ r+.
I
don't consider myself a gay activist, but I do support various lesbian/gay
and AIDS organizations, such as the Aris
Project, the Lutheran AIDS Network, Lutherans
Concerned, Project Open Hand,
and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation. While but by the grace of God I
remain HIV-, I have lost many friends and acquaintances to the plague;
some are mentioned on the Saints page in
the People section of my website.
