Michelle Byrom -- Mississippi

A Tishomingo County jury found Michelle Byrom, 44, guilty Friday. It 
began hearing arguments in the penalty phase of the trial Saturday. 


Prosecutors said Byrom's husband, Edward Byrom Sr., 56, was killed in a 
murder-for-hire scheme so she could collect his retirement and insurance 
benefits. 


Edward Byrom, a Tennessee Valley Authority electrician, was shot 4 times 
on June 4, 1999, in his home on Mississippi 172 .
