Fort Mitchell, Kentucky, February 2005. Katie Smith (22) had gone so far as to set up a completely furnished nursery in her apartment when she lured Sarah Brady there and attempted to kill her and steal her unborn child. The victim turned the tables on her attacker and killed her. Her baby McKaila Grace Brady was born alive in a hospital on February 16.

There is another victim of this story. In the year 2000, Katie Smith (the attacker) claimed to have recovered repressed memories of being sexually abused by her father. In 2001 Timothy Smith, her father, was convicted and sentenced to 20 years in prison on the strength of her testimony alone. As of this time, the commonwealth attorney for Kenton County has refused to reconsider his case.
