CRIME: McDermott, a former nurse, hired an orderly at the hospital where 
she worked to kill her male roommate so she could collect mortgage insurance 
on a house they co-owned.

The victim, Stephen Eldridge, was found with 44 stab wounds to the heart, 
lungs, liver, bowel, stomach, juggler vein, aorta and vina cava. Additionally, 
the victim's penis was cut off.
