Ms. Nieves was arrested July 2, a day after the girls bodies were found in sleeping bags on the kitchen floor.
If convicted, Nieves could face the death penalty. Municipal Court Commissioner Richard Brand set an Aug. 27 preliminary hearing.
The woman's 14-year-old son, David, was hospitalized briefly for smoke inhalation and hes now living with his father.
Jaqlene Marie Folden, 5, Kristl Dawn Folden, 7, Rashel Holly Nieves, 11, and Nikolet Amber Nieves, 12, were clad in sleep clothing when they were found dead in sleeping bags and bedding in the kitchen.
Investigators believe the girls asphyxiated from natural gas from a kitchen oven, but autopsy results haven't been released pinpointed an exact cause of death, coroners Lt. Cheryl MacWillie said. (source: MSNBC News)
