Opening statements are scheduled to begin today in the murder trial of 
Christina Walters, who is accused of being the ringleader of a local 
Crips gang.

She is the 3rd person convicted in the Aug. 17, 1998, slayings of Tracy 
Lambert and Susan Moore and the attempted murder of Debra Cheeseborough. 
Walters admitted to pumping several .32-caliber bullets into 
Cheeseborough and leaving her for dead. Cheeseborough, who was shot 7 
times, survived and testified at Walters' trial.
