Rental, Product and Customer Screen

This main screen will let the clerk simply enter the tape and the customer. The information given for either the tape, product or the customer can be either name, partial name, or ID number.

From there, the program fills the rest of the data displayed.

If the clerk is adding a new item (customer, tape, product), they simply enter the new ID or name and other appropriate data and when no match is made, they tell the program to add the item.

For renting tapes or current rentals

Note:

The "Customer" can be either an account owner, or an authorized user of an account.
Rental cost is the cost of the current tape
Total cost is the cost of the current tape, late fees, and other rentals (other than the current tape) for this session.

The clerk can query information on:

Account owner (if this customer isn't the owner)
Detailed tape information
Previous rentals on this account
The rest of the famous actor(s) list
Previous or next rental or sale
Authorized Users
Customer problems

Quick commands exist to get back to the previous level or directly to where you started "snooping around" from. (For example, you see that John Smith rented 2001: A Space Odyssey so you see who else rented it; Jane Johnson did, and also rented The Pink Panther and end up seeing that George Ledin is currently renting it. You can either go back to Jane and then back to John, or simply go directly back to John.)

A similar screen is shown for retail sales/additions, with the customer's information on the left and the current sale item on the right.
