Printer Options
Depending on the quality and speed you wish to have, many different
printers will suit your needs.
- Dot-Matrix Printers
Dot-matrix printers can be slow and usually have relatively poor quality,
but they're very inexpensive and have adequate quality to print labels,
receipts or bills.
Promotional banners and simple graphics can be printed with them, as well.
- Laser Printers
I don't suggest getting a laser printer for simple receipt-, label- and
bill-printing as their cost isn't worth it, stick with dot-matrix.
If you wish to print high-quality letters, fliers, newsletters or
manuals, unless you need it to be done quickly and with the best quality
possible, I recommend an ink jet printer.
Laser-printed graphics is also about the best one can get, but banners
are difficult because unlike dot-matrix printers, each page of paper is
separate (they're not all attached).
- Ink Jet Printers
Ink jet printers lie between dot-matrix and laser printers in both quality
and speed and of course in price. Also, for good quality color printing,
a color ink jet printer can be had for only $100-200 more than a black and
white one.
Graphics look quite good on most ink jets as well, but as with laser
printers, banners are difficult due to the single-page feeding.
