Kathy Schallert is an inspirational/Contemporary folk singer, songwriter, guitarist, arranger. Her versatility shows up in her two albums, Beyond the Storm and The Ten Commandments. The latter is a brave, commendable effort to call attention to truths that contemporary Christianity still holds and teaches. The refrain of "Bow Down" lingers through the entire presentation. "The Gift of Life", an ode to the sixth commandment, is a strident call to respect and cherish the sanctity of life. Her music is engrossing and contemplative.
