Dick Osborn | September 22, 1937 to January 6, 2008

While snorkeling on vacation with his family at Poipu Beach, Kauai, Hawaii, Dick Osborn died of a heart attack. He will be missed by all of us who knew and loved him. We will miss his sincere kindness, dedication to the things he believed in, positive words, and wonderful sense of humor.

He lived a long and rich life and seemed to enjoy every minute of it. He died doing what he loved, in a place that was special to him, with the people he loved.

Dick grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. He got his MA in Architecture from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He loved architecture and was an accomplished pianist. He lived and worked as an architect in Berkeley, California, moving to San Francisco in 1982, and on to Santa Rosa, California in 1987.

He is survived by his brother, Butch Osborn; his sister, Maryellen Filuta; sisters-in-law, Jeannie Osborn and Kathy Osborn; his wife, Suzanne Nagorka Osborn; his children, Matthew Osborn, Katy Augusta, and Jordan Osborn; his grandchildren, Nicholas Augusta, Emily Augusta, Paul Osborn, and Imogen Osborn; his daughter-in-law, Erin Osborn; his son-in-law, Brian Augusta, and his beloved Bichon pup, Conner.

On Monday, January 7, 2008 at 6:00 pm (Hawaiian time; 8:00 PST) there will be a traditional Hawaiian Blessing Ceremony, at sunset, at the ocean's edge. The family asks that you remember Dick at that time in your own way, wherever you may be.

There will be a Memorial Service for Dick on January 19, 2008 at 1:30 pm at The Glaser Center, 547 Mendocino Avenue, Santa Rosa, California.
