Q 1. What is the Soaring Diary?

It is a diary, or casual recording of history, Email memos, announcements, articles, etc., which was started in 1996. The most recent volumes are listed at the bottom of this page (which you may read by clicking on them). The subject matter in the diary is anything and everything which the writers feel may be of interest to soaring pilots in the area of Northern California and Nevada. The entries are made by the editor. Emails which appear in the diary were written by members of the soaring community, sent to the editor , and then added to the diary.

Q 3.   Why are there so many volumes?  Each Diary is Small!  Each volume is closed out and a new one started whenever the current volume is approaching ten pages or so - about a 100k file. Earlier volumes of the Diary may be selected for reading, as well as the Current Edition, by selecting from the list below. All Diary entries are in reverse chronological order, that is, the most recent entry is at the top of the page - just as the most recent past volume of the Diary is listed at the top of the following list.
