| The
Polecat Bike and Ski Storage System. Assembly Instructions |
Read all directions o ne time through before trying
to assemble your Pole Cat. Check your Pole Cat for the following
hardware: Top block, Large pole with holes, Smaller pole (no holes),
adjustment rod and adjustment nut, rubber tip, stop nut and stop
bolt and the number of bike hook or ski hook pairs for your order.
BIKE HOOKS
screw into the top threaded holes of the larger pole. Bike hooks must
be turned into the pole seven or more turns. Tighten the jam nut snugly
to the pole to keep the bike hook straight.
SKI HOOKS
go into the Pole Cat below the bike hooks. Insert threaded Ski Hook through
the pole and thread snugly into the receiving Ski Hook. The other pair
threads through the Bike Hook holes in the same way.
Place the Larger
pole over the Smaller pole so that it is at the top and the rubber tip
is at the bottom. Stand the pole up so the rubber tip is on the floor.
Place the top block on top of the pole and extend the pole towards the
ceiling. It is IMPORTANT that you center the Top Block under a ceiling
stud or beam. If you do not, the ceiling may be damaged when you tighten
the adjustment nut.
DO NOT USE
THE POLE CAT ON SUSPENDED CEILINGS!
Find the lowest hole
the Stop Bolt will go into and insert it in the hole. Install Stop Nut
onto Stop Bolt. Holding the small pole stationary, lift the large pole
to the ceiling and tighten the Adjustment Nut. We recommend you use a
crescent wrench, vise grips or large pliers to achieve the proper tension
on the POLE CAT. Check tightness by pulling down on the Bike Hook. Do
not hang from the hooks they are meant for holding bikes not people. If
you have Ski Hooks you can check tightness by shaking the pole briskly.
To plumb the pole you can dangle a weight at the bottom from the ceiling
or you can use a bubble level.
You may now hang
your sport equipment on the Pole Cat. If a tension readjustment should
be necessary, do not readjust with any equipment on the Pole Cat.
