Deconstruction is not a new process, but the bulldozer changed the way we took apart buildings.  Beyond Waste is bringing back old fashioned values of materials conservation while creating new jobs. Deconstruction actually doesn't often cost more money than regular demolition, it just takes a little more time. With good planning, most older buildings can be deconstructed at a savings to the owners, in fact with good planning, some of the components from the older building can be used in the new structure to be built in its place.

Our merchandise comes from an assortment of buildings, therefore we have medium grade used materials as well as priceless vintage lumber salvaged out of 1920'2 warehouses in San Francisco   Some of our materials are quite simply, irreplaceable. Old growth timbers, architectural trimmings, even some old door knobs no longer can be found anywhere except in a used building materials yard.

Beyond Waste is engaged in the training of  people in the skills necessary to work in this dynamic new industry.
