(1893 - 1989)

     Charles Prouty was born in 1893 in  Mississippi, USA.   After the US entered the Great War, Charles enlisted July 27, 1917 in the U.S. Navy.  He was sent overseas from June 29, 1918 to Dec. 27, 1918 as a yeoman on board the mine laying ship, the U.S.S. Aroostook.  He was given an Honorable Discharge Sept. 27, 1919. 

  The following pages were taken from his scrapbook of  his military service.
