Mr. John Peter Frerichs, a German 75 years of age who lived in this township near the Holcomb place on the banks of the Maquoketa river, died on the 22nd inst. He was buried in the Lutheran cemetery, in this township, yesterday. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Von Strohe and Rev. Brust. The deceased was born in Hanover. His widow who is seven years his senior and who has been a cripple for 15 years survives him. John was buried at Sand Hill Cemetery in USA, Iowa, Jones Co..⁴³⁵ He was also known as Friedrichs.⁴³⁵ Came to the United States in 1866. They eventually settled near Kitty Creek (near Monticello, Iowa). Their daughter, Anna, was already here.
