Joseph Hastings^911,1227 was born on 6 May 1669 in Massachusetts Colony, Middlesex Co., Cambridge.^1227,1459 Joseph, s. of Jno and Lidea, May 6, 1669 He died on 27 February 1725 at the age of 55 in Massachusetts Colony, Middlesex Co., Weston.¹²²⁷ Joseph worked as a weaver in Cambridge. After his marriage he settled in Reading where he petitioned the General Court for relief, stating that near Exter during an expedition against the Indians in 1690 he was wounded by a shot near his eye which destroyed his sight. The Court granted him £10 money. He moved his family to Weston in July 1716 where they became members of the church. Elizabeth Edwards and Joseph Hastings were married on 17 January 1699 in Massachusetts Colony, Middlesex Co., Cambridge.^1226,1227
