John "Seaborne" Hastings⁹¹¹ was born about 1637 in Massachusetts Colony, Norfolk Co., Braintree.¹⁶⁴¹ He was baptized about 1637 in Massachusetts Colony, Norfolk Co., Braintree.^1546,1641 John was given the name "Seaborn" because it is thought he was born on the journey to New England. His baptism record is in Braintree, Mass. John worked as a tanner in Cambridge, probably with his father and brother Walter. He signed the 1664 loyality petition along with his brothers Walter and Samuel (Barber).

Her will mentions a brother John, sister Allen, brother Daniel of Sudbury, and a cousin Walter, son of her brother Daniel.
