1142. John Williams was born before 1673 in Virginia Colony, Isle of Wight Co. (prob).1381 He signed a will on 13 March 1745 in North Carolina Colony, Bertie Co..1369,1597 He mentions family members: Dearly beloved wife Ann; well beloved sons Theophilus, Isaac and Arthur Williams; well loved daughters Ann Herring, Sarah Castellaw and Mary Herring; well loved grandson John Williams; well loved grandchildren Farobe, Ezeken (Ezekiel), Jerusha and Barbara Williams.
His slaves were divided to several of his children. He left "Common Prair Books" to his daughters, Sarah and Mary. He left money to his grandchildren, Farobe, Ezekiel and Barbara Williams, 25 pounds "Virgene currence".

Witnesses: William Bryd, Jurat; John Moore, and Thomas Castellaw, Jurat.

His will was probated Oct 1757, Court of Bertie County.

(Grimes 410-411) He died about 1758 at the age of 85 in North Carolina Colony, Bertie Co..1381 John Williams was living in Surry Co. Virginia per his father's will of 1691. Surry Co. joins Isle of Wight Co., and is in the area between Petersbury and Newport News, VA.
He probably inherited his father's lands in Surry Co, as well as the Manor Plantation in Isle of Wight Co., since it is likely his youngest brother Theopilus was dead by 1694. John's name appears on the 1704 quit rent list for Isle of Wight Co, VA as the owner of 600 acres.

He purchased land from William Williams and his wife Mary on 4 April, 1704, with Richard and Nicholas Williams as witnesses.

He moved to North Carolina before 1716, and on 26 May 1718 was recorded of "ye county of Albemarle in North Carolina." In 1722 Albemarle had five precincts: Currituck, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Chowan and Bertie. John is mentioned in court records in both Chowan and Bertie precincts.

On 26 May 1718 there is a transaction between John Williams and Ralph Vickers for land in Isle of Wight Co, VA. On 21 Oct. 1725 he sold as John Williams of NC to Nicholas Williams of Wight Co, VA 125 acres of land which had been granted to William Williams in 1703. Anne and John Williams were married before 1691.

1143. Anne1381 died in North Carolina Colony, Bertie Co.. Anne signed several deeds with her husband John. She may have died before the deed of gift was made to their grandson Ezekiel Williams, dated 26 Feb. 1757 in Bertie Co., as she did not sign the gift.

John Williams signed a will on 26 January 1721 in North Carolina Colony, Albemarle Co..1369,1381 His will mentions brothers, Theophilus, James, Isaac and Arthur Williams. His cousins (probably nephews), John Williams, son of Theophilus Willias, and Anthony Herring.

(Grimes 410) He died about 1722 in North Carolina Colony, Albemarle Co..1381 probably never married as his will only mentions his brothers, cousins (probably nephews)

Theophilus Williams1598 was born about 1695.1381 He died between 1760 and 1770 at the age of 65 in North Carolina Colony, Onslow Co..1599 Theophilus' name appears on a list of freeholders living between Salmn Creek and Cashy River in Chowan Pct of Albemarle Co., NC, 9 Jan 1719, along with his father, John Williams. His brother John's will, probated 18 May 1722, mentions a "cousin John, son of Theophilus Williams".
On 17 May 1739, Theophilus and Christain sold 400 acres to Thomas Barker. This land was part of a patent granted to John Williams Jr. and part of a tract granted Theophilus Pugh at Village Swamp, adjacent Thomas Bond at Falling Run.
In the May 1742 Bertie Co. court minutes, Theophilus, on oath, declared his rights, viz: Theophilus, Christian,Joseph, James, Esther, Lewis and Feribee Williams, white persons. 12 black slaves were also included.
Theophilus sold land to Jethro Butler on 10 Sept 1742 "to be laid out according to the will of Thomas Busby." Then 24 Sept 1742, he and his wife sold to Theophilus Pugh of Nansemond Co. Va, 240 acres on the north side of Foaling Run adjoining Needham Bryan, Thomas Bond, Thomas Barker, part of a patent granted Theophilus Williams for 640 acres on 8 August 1728.

Isaac Williams1600 died after 1758.1381 Isaac and Martha sold land to Thomas Bond, adjoining John, Theophilus and Isaac Williams, 8 Dec. 1735. He went back to Virginia and lived on family land in that part of old Lunenburg, now Mecklenburg Co, VA. He lived there to an old age, dying after 1758 on his plantation on the Roanoke River, a few miles from Warrenton, NC.
