268. William Alderman III1087 was born on 17 April 1719 in Connecticut Colony, Hartford Co., Simsbury.1088 "William Alderman the first son of William A and Rebeckah was b 17 April 1719." SIMSBURY RECORDS p 156. There may have been other children and those named may not be listed in the order of their birth. WILLIAM3 ALDERMAN, (William2-1), was born 17 April 1719 and m. 3 July 1739 Patience, dau. of widow Mary Sweeny. He lived in Simsbury, CT. There are several references to him in the Beekman rent books: "1 May 1757. John Lewis in in possession in lot 4. First Abijah Cobb, the remainder in the possession viz: William Alderman in the NW corner of the same farm first Cob's." [ELP A:86]. "William Alderman in Beekman in lot 4; consent survey or lease first settled 1739; see f. 179." [Credit side of page torn away. ELP A:139]. [Some records noted above in his father's account may belong here]. He had a dau. Patience b. 1745 who m. Samuel Woodward, b. 5 June 1742, the son of John and Mary (Spaulding) Woodward, [FJD]. John Woodward and his family came to Beekman from Pomfret, CT in 1753 and it seems very possible that Patience Alderman m. Samuel Woodward in Beekman. [Cf. TAG 40:207]. Samuel Woodward and Patience had ch.: Phebe, Archibald, Polly, John, Samuel, Patience, William, Isabel. A William Alderman picked up a billoting receipt in Poughkeepsie in 1759 for service in the F&I War in Dutchess County. In 1760 he was in a muster on LI, listed as born in CT, age 40, a laborer. He died on 9 July 1759 at the age of 18.782 He signed a will on 9 July 1759. Elihu fought in the French and Indian War during the years 1756, 1757 and 1758, and died unmarried while in the service. He left a noncupative will dated July 9, 1759, in which he gave his gun and powder horn to his brother Elisha. To my grandmother Rachel Alderman a glass bottle to my sisters Rachel, Mary and Patience the rest among my sisters and brothers.

Josiah Starr, in Col. Hinman's regiment, discharged at Fort Dayton on the Mohawk River by Capt. Allen in 1777. He died after 1818 at the age of 61 in USA, New York, Ostego Co., Middlefield.782,1089 Ephraim appeared in court to confirm he was in the Rev.
